Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished. ~1 Chronicles 28:20
This morning, Papa blessed me with one of those moments that I always crave so much from Him where it is blatantly clear that He is listening and He answers right then and there in that moment, and I wanted to share…
I have been “waiting” (aka procrastinating) to start working on the next step in my own personal journey in terms of healing and transforming into the person God made me to be and the person I want to be. While I could rattle on about what those areas that need healing and transformation are, that’s not the point of this post. Rather, it is to remind us all (myself included) that we can do hard things, and that we are never alone in doing them. God is always in the boat with us.
This morning, while praying before my morning devotional time, I asked Papa for clear guidance on the matter and for courage to start this next step. After finishing my prayer, I opened up my devotional (“Embraced” By Lysa TerKaeurst) to read today’s message, and found this:
“It is possible to layer one courageous choice upon another and find victory in your area of struggle. No matter what your struggle is, are you willing to make one courageous choice today?
Make that choice.
And then make it again.
And then make it again.
Your are a courageous woman. Now, go out and prove it to yourself.”
These words hit home for me regarding my current circumstances and incremental work on my growth and goals in general. After a few tears of gratitude and pure joy at the reminder that He is going through every aspect of this journey with me, I got up, and made one courageous choice for this next stage of my adventure. I’ll be making this same choice tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next…you get the picture.
Whatever struggle you may be dealing with that takes work to overcome, whatever cross is yours to bear (we all have them), remember that you are courageous and brave, and everything you need to overcome any obstacle in your way is already in you. Remember who is in the boat with you during your storms, and know with complete confidence that there is no need to fear what lies ahead or the outcome, because you are held, covered, loved, and safe in the palm of His hand.
With Him, you are unstoppable, you CAN make courageous choices, and you CAN do hard things. Make that courageous choice today, and trust in His perfect love to carry you through to victory.
