Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Sweetened With Raw Honey

I recently made a batch of coconut flour cupcakes, and the frosting that I made to top them was a buttercream frosting using raw honey instead of powdered sugar as sweetener. The result was so delicious, I knew I had to give this frosting a post of its own, as it would be great for cake, cupcakes, etc. and it is healthier than traditional buttercream frostings that are made with processed powdered sugar. On top of that, it’s really easy to put together and only contains three ingredients! It’s a frosting win all around!

VANILLA BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup grass-fed butter
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

  1. Place all of the frosting ingredients in a bowl, and stir to combine. Once combined, use a hand mixer to whip the frosting until it thickens to your desired consistency (longer = more thick, shorter = more liquidy) and becomes a lighter color.

2.) Place the frosting into a plastic ziploc bag, and cut off the corner of the bag. Use the bag to pipe the frosting onto whatever it is you are frosting.

Ta-da! Told you it was SUPER easy! Enjoy! 🙂
