Cheesy Baked Green Bean Fries

My husband gets so happy when I make these cheesy baked green bean fries as a side dish for dinner (or just as a snack during the day). These things may look quite simple, but they are so incredibly full of delicious flavor! All of the ingredients come together to provide a lemon-garlicy-cheesy flavor that you won’t be able to get enough of! Furthermore, the “fries” are simply green beans, which means you’re getting all of the health benefits of green beans, some of which are as follows:

  • Good for the digestive system
  • Great for eye health
  • May help prevent colon cancer
  • Due to the high content of calcium, Vitamin K, Vitamin A, and silicon, they are great for bone health
  • Helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease
  • Excellent for the immune system

See, this is why I love these so much – delicious “fries” with gobs of health benefits – yes, please!

CHEESY BAKED GREEN BEAN FRIES

Ingredients (amounts vary with how much you make):

  • Fresh green beans, washed and dried
  • olive oil spray
  • garlic granules
  • lemon juice
  • Sea salt
  • Cheese of your choice (I like this with mild cheddar goat cheese)

Directions:

1.) Preheat the oven to 390 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.) Spread your green beans out evenly on the baking sheet. Spray lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic granules. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes at 390 degrees.

3.) After the 20 minutes are up, remove the beans from the oven. Sprinkle with lemon juice, and shred your cheese over the top of the green beans. Place back in the oven, and bake for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is lightly melted.

4.) Remove from the oven, and use a spatula to transfer to a plate. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste, and serve.

Healthy fries – YAY! Enjoy! 😋
